Skills are honed through practice, but at the beginning of a sales manager's career, the main thing is to avoid typical mistakes that can lead not only to stress, but also to the loss of a client.

Mistake 1. Not asking questions
During the conversation, the client talked a lot about his project and team, but said almost nothing about what he wanted to get as a result of the order. In the end, the negotiations went well, but the manager still did not find out the most important information. So how to develop a product that will help the buyer achieve his goals?

Solution: ask the customer what difficulties he social media marketing service encountered in his work and what result he wants to get from your product.

For example, you can ask the following questions:

What problem do you want to solve by ordering application development from us?
Who is your target audience?
What organizations do you consider your competitors?

Mistake 2. Not recording agreements
The manager discussed the project with the client and agreed that the first version of the site would be ready in two weeks. The customer asked to first make a product catalog and a personal account, take new product photos, not from the old site. The negotiations ended, the manager did not confirm the tasks separately and immediately passed them on to specialists.

The team developed a layout and sent it to the customer for approval, he looked at it and said that everything had to be redone. The manager tried to remind the client about the verbal agreements, but he could only remember part of them.

Solution: Record all tasks in a message and send them to the client by email. This is a great way to confirm the information received during negotiations and provide evidence if questions arise.

Mistake 3: Not clarifying whether you have correctly understood the client’s preferences
It seems that we have already discussed everything, recorded the agreements and started developing the project. What other problems might arise?

It may turn out that the manager misunderstood the client: he wanted a bright website in rich colors, so that it looked dynamic and attracted attention. But the manager did not figure out what the customer meant and described the task to the designers as he understood it. The project is ready, but it is not at all what the client wanted.
